Fletcher Hartsell failed to give sound advice in the firing of county employee Dorris D. Wright and the action in Superior Court case # 03cvs 01923 ordered the Cabarrus County to pay $130,000.00 to depersed as followed, (A) $50,000.00 to resolve the employee's clain for lost wages and benefits. (B) $ 48,000.00 to resolve all non-wage claims,(C) $32,000.00 to Ferguson, Stein, Chambers for attorney fees, cost and expenses incurred in connection with this action.	The employee and the county came to agreement on 11-24-2003 and the whole matter started on September 12, 2000 with the dissed Ms. Wright at Cabarrus DSS. A contested case hearing was conducted on June 26 and 27, 2001.
On April 18, 2003 Judge, Beecher R. Gray issued a decision that concludeing Ms. Wright was dismissed without cause. It is contention of the majority of the Cabarrus County board that Fletcher Hartsell has responsibility in this settlement award, and the county was not properly advised and represented by Fletcher Hartsell from the very beginning. The taxpayers have suffered financial losses as a result of unsuitable advice and preformance from Fletcher Hartsell. With this miconduct as Cabarrus County Attorney, is a truly a misrepresentation as Cabarrus County attorney.
